Slp loudmouth resonator

I came across one of these on sale and went ahead n bought it. It's been sitting in the box for almost a year in my garage. Figured it's time to decide whether or not to install it. Will it improve or effect performance ( good or bad) to install this on a factory exhaust? I have zero performance mods. Even if it just improves a hair I'll do it. But if it'll do nothing I'd rather not waste the cash. Any input would help

No bolt-on mod will yield any gains unless you tune the ECU with them. In fact, most bolt-on mods will decrease output power from factory as they may interfere with factory tuning e.g. changing/increasing the diameter of the intake at the MAF, thus decreasing air velocity over the sensor, sending bad data to the ECU, screwing up fuel delivery, etc.. Stock configuration is as good as it gets unless you adjust the ECU accordingly. But hey, the stuff looks cool.

Yeah I didn't know if it would change the tone at all or do nothing and it was a waste I mean it's the same size pipe I mean nothing changes but the resonator itself. The diameter of the pipe is the same as the factory it's just aftermarket one I guess. But I'll just keep it in case one day I ever need to replace more than just that. Hopefully not. Just so you know I appreciate all your input. Especially with the audio stuff I'm sure I asked dumb questions sometimes but I just don't know much about it. I know way more now than I used to though. I had no idea what all was entailed in car audio. Pretty crazy. High output alternator is next. When I do that I'll probably upgrade the mids and highs too. I already have a kicker amp I can use. It's just that Bose factory amp that makes it all a nightmare

If you just want a sound change then there's no harm in that. But don't expect an increase in power. And yeah, factory infotainment systems suck for going aftermarket. Re-wire the whole car basically.

Yeah and I'm not trying to do all that. Not anytime soon anyway. Want to make sure this new motor holds out first. LOL all right man well I'm at work so you have a good day I'll talk to you later. I'm sure I'll have another question soon. Haha

Oh yeah I meant to tell you this and the other thread , I just bought new control arms. Last thing I "need" according to Nissan. I bought Moog arms on rock auto.$260. I may try to do myself. I'm better with mechanical than car audio. I'll end up paying someone else I'm sure. Lol

Control arms are easy, that shouldn't take you too long to do.

I got a mechanic at BMW to do it. He does work on the side. The dealership let's him use the shop. He's only charging me $110. I go out of town Saturday morning. I work all week till dark so doing it myself isn't ideal.

Affect performance? Nope!
Affect how the car sounds? Yup!

Thanks for the brief, to the point ,answer. Lol I'm wanting just a very minor change in sound. Nothing crazy.
