Carrying a Mountain bike.

I have a 2020 Maxima
Is it possible to carry a mountain bike in the trunk with the back seats folded down?
I really don't want to put it on the trunk or install a trailer hitch.

if I had a bike I would try it so before buying one I would like to know if one would fit.

thank you

This may not be the reply that you'd expect, but I have a thule double bike trunk rack that I use on my 2014 Max. It is quite sturdy & does not damage the trunk when loaded.
Just my experience.

I have looked at those might be the answer.
What model Thule do you have?

I actually do not remember the thule model. I bought it through etrailer.com, online. They had clear listings for what would fit my car. I bought thule based on reputation.
I hope this helps.

Yes it's possible. You just need to take off the front wheel. My Cannondale CAAD 13 road bike fits with the front wheel off and I load it in with the back wheel slighting hanging past the folded down rear seats.

I should have mentioned that I bought the thule trunk rack because it is a double carrier. That way, I can carry both mine & my SO's bike everywhere. That was an important consideration in it's purchase.

Yeah the max can carry 1 but 2 you def need a carrier. I got a carrier that clipped onto the trunk with my Altima and it left lots of scratches when weight and the clamps shifted.

When I attach the rack, I am very particular to tighten the straps quite well.
I'd hate to tear up the trunk finish!
