Recommended repair order

HI there,

I got my car back from the shop after taking it in to see why it felt I was running on my rims. A long list of items came back so I'm going to try and tackle it myself.

I'm hopeful that someone will be able to suggest the order on which I should go about this little lot...

All 3 power steering lines here leaking
Power steering pump is going out
Rack and pinion leaking and on its way out
tie rod ends
wheel bearing in front left wheel
Front crankshaft seal

I figure that I disconnect the battery and start to remove the high pressure hose then jack it up and support with jack stands then get under and remove the rest of the high pressure hose and the low pressure.hoses
drop the subframe and get the rack and pinion out
Replace the power steering pump and crankshaft seals
replace the rack and pinion
do the low then high pressure lines.

The tierod end i can do when moving bits to the new rack and pinion.

Does this seem reasonable? Is there anything I'm missing or any gotchyas? Any special tools I'll need other than a separator for the tierod ends (or a big hammer)

TIA.

Especially if you have someone to help you, you should be able to do all of that in a weekend and would just need to get an alignment after everything is done. I would do the 3 lines, pump, and rack all at once then just do new tie rod ends on both sides after you get the rack in. Wheel bearing I would just take the spindle out after your get the rack bolted in then when you get the new bearing pressed, bolt in the new tie rod end. Crank seal especially if it isn't leaking bad is the last thing i would worry about

Thanks for the suggestions. I've got the bits to do all of it. I figure I can do the crankshaft seal while the wheel it off and the rack and pinion is out the way so I'll have a bit more access. I'm just concerned if my impact will have enough torque to get the bolt off. It did my steering wheel nut and that was a beast so I might be ok.

The work you need done sounds about right. If it's work you can do yourself it's not bad. The power steering pump top bolt can be a pain, but its doable. My suggestion to you is to Rebuild you stock pump, its a simple seal and vane pump.. Napa sells the kits, they are 15 bucks and Never fail. Its all i recommend. keep us updated
