Infinitbird=4, Amber lenses=0, I30=happy!!

My 96 I30 has no Amber lenses anymore!!
First I cleared the rear turn signal lense, thanks to maximadriver.com how2 and member iansw. Today I finally did the front corners and MAN DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE! I took a chance on the front because nobody had any info on it. It is basically the exact same as the rear.

Anyways, thanks goes out to all who helped when I first started asking questions.

Congrats!

Thanks for the props, but ebmorgan actually did them...I just helped and gave some guidance after doing my Max.

Did you use my patented oven method?

Also, how'd you do the front? Did you put a piece of flourescent light cover in there, or just leave it without anything in there?

Same question with the back...did you use the Flourescent Light cover?

Thanks,
IanS

Well you may have just helped but it was the write up that helped me the most And yes I did use the oven method for the front and back, I was hesitant at first but it works really well. My mom came home and her reaction was: "oh you finally decided to cook your mother some dinner" and I said: "dont get your hopes up mom unless you like your taillights well done" and her reaction " "

The front corners were a lot easier to do than the rear(b/c their smaller I guess), pop out the amber piece and put in the flourescent light cover just like back.

Hey would this method work on the clear corners on 4th gen Maximas?? Or you can only do the front clears on I30s?

Are the clear corners actually orange or just the relfector inside of them is orange? I think for the Maxima, the actual glass is orange.

Now I have yet another question. After clearing the lenses it dawned on me that I need new bulbs to match my xenon headlights. I was looking on ebay(my favorite place to shop) and the bulbs for the front side marker(194's) are all rated at 5 watts. I checked the manual and it says the factory bulbs are 3.8 watts. Would the 5 watt bulbs be ok or would the possible burn something up.

Once again thanks in advance,
T

He's talking about the parking lights next to the headlights.

They are already clear on the Maxima.

The only way to get clear corners (blinkers/lower parking lights) is to buy them on the Max.
