I put a wire directly from the positive to the start of the starter is good how do I bypass that my car is stuck somewhere and I need to get this car home and I don't know what to do

 

I had this same issue on my 03 GLE. It would crank but wouldn't turn over. Turned out to be the key I was using. It was an aftermarket one made, I think the chip went out and it wouldn't read it. I switched back to one of the original keys that came with the car and had no issues whatsoever. It's an antitheft feature.

 

His car is a 96 and doesn't have that anti theft feature.

What do you mean when you say "the starter is good"? What exactly are the symptoms you're experiencing? Do you hear a click from the front of the car when you turn the key? Is your car auto or manual? Do you know if your battery is good?
