AC turning on @ highspeeedS?

I have a 97 gxe with manual AC. Whenever I start going about 60+mph and the AC is in the OFF position, I notice that it starts to blow out air from whichever heat mode is selected. If the dial is all the way on the hot side it will blow hot air if its all the way on the cold side it will blow cold air but its still OFF. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

do this
press the circulation, front air, and ac button at the same time. That turns mine off. so top 2 press in and botton 1st press in.

Re: AC turning on @ highspeeedS?

putting it in the "off" position doesn't close the ducts. the air flow from outside is enough to drive air through the HVAC ducts and produce some air circulation. the only way around this is shutting the grates. I haven't tried maxdriver98's method, but it might work as well.

not really true. You can leave the gates open, just hit the recirculation button. I like the air flow, if ya leave it in recirc. mode the air gets stale and the windows fog in the winter.

i have automatic climate control and i have the same prob - heat comes out of the vents near my feet when driving on the highway. but i like the fact that i don't even have to turn on the heater in the winter because its already on

Hit the RECIRC button
