Ambient Air Temperature Reading -22°F

Hey everyone!

I have 2017 Nissan Maxima.

I got an issue with the temperature reading in my car. It says that the outside temperature is -22°F and the AC compressor clutch is not kicking in.

I went under the car and checked the ambient air temperature sensor. It looked good and plugged in but I decided to go to Orielly's to get a new one. The closest Nissan Dealership that has it in stock is a hour drive away.

I replaced it and I'm still getting -22°F. The wiring on the pig tail connector looks good. I don't know what to do from here.

Because of this reading, it's preventing the computer from engaging in the AC clutch which is making the ac not work at all.

Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue. Turns out something had come through the bumper and spliced my wires. Try following them to see if they are attached everywhere. Also, you can get a replacement pig tail connector on Amazon for about 10$
