is the clutch on the compressor turning when you press the AC button?

Before we can help you, you're gonna have to get a little familiar with your car.

Standing at your passenger fender, look down at all the pulleys. The AC compressor is at the very bottom right.

With the AC off, the clutch doesn't spin. With the AC on, the clutch spins.

when you dont have your AC on, only the part of the compressor pulley that has the belt on it spins. when you press the AC button to turn the AC on, a smaller circle (the clutch) infront of the pulley should lock and spin as well. if it doesnt, compressor is probably bad

Another possible cause is the air mix door motor. If the a/c compressor is running, this is the next thing to check.
