Y-Pipe Flex Pipe Exhaust Leak

Been a long time since I have posted. For the most part my 2014 7th Gen is still doing great. The car recently started to have what sounds like an exhaust leak. It can mostly be heard while in the cabin and is barely perceptible outside. I find the noise very annoying. I took the car to Midas and they told me that the flex section has a pinhole leak. They want $1,500 to replace the Y-Pipe, which sounds kind of outrageous.

Those who have done it themselves, how difficult is it to change the Y-Pipe on the 7th Gen? .I have previously changed the Y- Pipe on my 4th Gen but I was much younger then.. If I remember correctly it was not all that easy. I may just get a Walker Y-Pipe and 3 gaskets and do it myself. Unlike many on this forum I like my car exhaust to be quiet. . Any suggestions or input is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Not hard. Did this surgery before.

if the bolts and nuts seize, heat and muscle off….. or grind off and put new ones in.

surgery time is about 45 minutes on your back

Thanks, I was beginning to think no one on this site has done this. Nuts and bolts being seized is probably my biggest concern.

I saw that Thanks! I did find additional information. I think the main issue is going to be dealing with the rusted nuts and bolts.

PB blaster, let it soak overnight, then surgery-up next day…
