Misfire? Only in gear

Good morning,
I have what seems to be a misfire, but it’s more of a grumble/vibration but only in gear (but most noticeable under 20 mph) but is in accordance with engine cycle/rpms like as it shifts it gets quieter but I can “feel” the sound vibration if I hold my hand over the exhaust. The only mechanical thing that’s been done was changing the compressor and it seems like it started the next morning after.

No codes. But is a motor mount possible?
if the engine is out a little bit after warming up and the rubber heats up to tolerate vibrations better?

I cleaned it. But I’m thinking motor mounts. I tested them out but torquing the motor and it moves a lot. And when I shifted from to drive it clunked very hard like it was on a hill and didn’t use the e brake

How is your radiator support?

The beam that the radiator rests ontop of is notorious for rusting out due to a design flaw that allows water to collect there. The engine cradle that holds the motor via the front + rear motor mounts happens to bolt up to the radiator support exactly where the rust rot is, and what happens is eventually it breaks completely free and droops down and allows the motor to flop around.

Heres a pic taken just the other day for reference, it is not a fun job lol

so replace the front and rear motor mounts and the vibration and everything went away. It is amazing how something like that can mimic a misfire characteristic.

Yoooo whats good my dude? Yeah its been a few years, been busy with life and jumping careers a couple of times so the max has been sitting collecting dust all along, didnt help that I bought a bike which became my new favorite toy lol. Started giving the old girl some love again this past month or so and just plugging along with all the little things that need to get done at a nice leisurely pace, actually enjoyable to work on now that its not a commuter and is strictly a project car. Right now im getting around to installing 300zx/13” rotors in the front and 12.3” brakes in the rear, just waiting for the powdercoater to finish them up. Lots of little things to do but should be back on the road after that. Much more planned for next spring too.

Hope all is well with you as well dude, its been a hit minute. Did you ever get those massive porsche calipers on?

Glad that worked out for you, FAP!

Got busy, good to hear from you and things are going well, Slamrod. I survived the last two storms here in Tampa with no loss or damage. Lucky me. Haven't done anything to the Maxima except drive it and maintain it. I still have a room full of projects for it, but still no time to get them done! Someday, someday! Interesting that you mention a new bike. I just broke down and got a bike again in 2022 after being out of the two-wheel game for a while. Been riding the ****e out of it as we Florida guys can do that. 2013 1199 Panigale S.
