cleaning seats
cleaning seats
I have the beige cloth seats in my car, but in some spots there are what looks like grease spots. What should I use to get them looking nice again? I tried dish soap on a sponge, followed by brushing, and carpet cleaner sprays. They don't accomplish much, plus it hardens the seats or leaves the stain of the spray until I scrub like crazy to go over it again. My seatbelts are in even worse condition. Is there any product I can buy that is designed to clean cloth seats and seatbelts to make them look like new again?

Thanks for the link. What is the exact name of the Oxiclean product? There's a lot of different names in that category under the website. Is it the multipurpose stain remover with 2.5lb tub with squirt bottle and 2 shammies? That's $15. I hope it can also make the seatbelts look great again, since those are really thin fabrics and harder to clean.
I'll buy this stuff soon.

the 2.5lb tub is what you want.
My stepdad owns a carpet cleaning business (hotels, restaraunts, houses, etc).. that's what they use in their equipment to clean- except they buy it in 5 gal buckets.
but I also use it in my small upholstery cleaner. One of those "Little Green Clean Machines".. does an excellent job cleaning up the car before car shows.

I have the same type of cloth interior, and I have found that a hot-water carpet cleaner (like the Green Machine or a Bissel) is the best way to get the stains out of that fabric. It's taken a while, but I've finally worked just about all of the light staining. I personally have grown to hate this fabric, and I'd much rather have had the standard cloth interior found in most other Max's. Our weird quasi-corderoy material just soaks up stains.
please be smart
instead of taking the chance of ****ing up your interior and getting really ****ed at yourself offer the local carpet cleaning company some $$ to clean the whole interior (this is there specialty)(Carpet & interiors) i know this because i used to do this for a living. please dont mess up that beautiful interipor with oxiclean. just pay these guys and i gaurantee your satisfaction, i would charge you 40.00 for your interor but they may be cheaper.... take a chance.
