this is how i did it for my vg or at least to the best of my memory =) ...
-start off with taking off the air inlet tube (the black plastic tube with the resonator)
just loosen the worm gear clamps on each end of the inlet tube using flathead driver, then disconnect the black hose going to the AAC valve. now it should come out w/o much trouble.
-next, disconnect hoses from the sides that go to the egr and rocker cover, disconnect the throttle valve switch harness. using a ratchet and 8mm? socket take out the 3 bolts in front of the tb. the gasket on mine didnt tear so i didnt replace it.
you are now at the throttle chamber..
i forgot to mention, it might be a good idea to park on a slope with front end pointing downward, so that all the excess tb cleaner runs out instead of collecting inside.
open up the butterfly and spray generouly... be sure to have paper towels handy to catch all the liquid that drips out cuz it will be dirty! clean it until all the black gunk is gone and the butterfly doesnt stick.
put everything back together and that's it.
your parked and neutral idle will prob shoot up to around ~1000rpm. some people say it goes back down in a couple weeks... if not, just fix the idle by adjusting the throttle valve switch.

I just cleaned mine today. It was really dirt, but I got it all cleaned up. The hardest part was getting the old gasket off! It took me about an hour and a half to scrape it off. Boy does it run smooth though now. It idles in park arond 900 vs. 700 before I cleaned it.
When I cleaned mine, I though that the gasket was in such good condition that I just left it alone and put everything back together. I checked for leaks, and have found none. Was it imperative that I replace the gasket. What it really amounted to was that I couldn't get the thing off. If I should have replaces the gasket I will gladly do it; but what is the best way to remove it

i just did mine too.. it was kinda a PIA. taking the 3 bolts off is easy, idunno why some of you disconnected all those hoses and ****, but i just had to spray then re attach and start, and then detatch spray, and restart the car like 20 times.. in the end it became clean and i used the whole can like it said. our cars wont run if the maf is disconnected, so you have to keep reattaching the intake after every spray dosage..
