why is it that the wiring harness has two
ground wires, and is it ok to take out the
bose head unit and put an aftermarket radio in
and add an amp and box but keep the bose speakers
in as they were including its own amp just hooked
up to my kenwood radio? thanx for helpin

i don't know about the two ground wire thing, i never cared

but you can change your head unit and keep the bose speakers. i heard something about an adaptor, but if the ant. adaptor cost $25 just think how much this one would cost. you can do what i did and find the power wire for the amps and give it power from somewhere else. or you can look at the bottom of the factory head unit and it would tell you which wire is the remote turn on for the amps, just connect that wire to a 12volt source. but that never worked for me, it worked for other though.

You can check the diagram if it's clear enough, but it doesn't give wire colors. If you buy an adaptor (ex: Auto Zone) for the Max, it will have all the colors for the wires and what they do. The Bose amps work off the ground to turn them on and off and should have constant + voltage. If you run your deck to the speakers, you will have to get a "high to low" converter. These are not cheap. The reason for this is that the Bose deck is "non amplified," so it uses voltage output, not wattage like your new Kenwood will. If you try to run wattage to the input of the Bose amps you can really damage all your components, amps, speakers, and deck( something about feedback from the amps what the stereo shop said?). Anyway, the convertors are adjustable and change the wattage output to volts and come out of the converters as RCA plugs but they could be cut and wired in to the Bose input I'm sure. This is the only way I know to do it without damaging anything.
