Went to the track this afternoon

I decided to go to Steele (1/4 mile track in Alabama) today and ran a new best:
R/T .838
60' 2.346
1/8 10.002
MPH 72.09
1/4 15.481
MPH N/A
What do I need to work on? I really don't know whats good and whats not. I am a 97 auto w/ intake and y-pipe. Then I had even more fun on the way home. I had just gotten on I-59 and was doing about 80 and I see this Mustang and some other car flying up behind me. I was going to follow in behind the second car (a 2 door Pontiac) but this Eclipse some FLYING up behind them so I was 4th in line. Then the Mustang moved over and we went to 90+ and then the Pontiac moved over. It was just the Ecplise and me doing 90-100 and all of a sudden it just took off. I hit 120+ and was just barley gaining on it. I wasn't racing it, just keeping up. Then I decided I didn't want to die since cars were coming up so I slowed down. It seemed like I hit a wall at that speed. I was in 4th so I wasn't stuck in 3rd but it wasn't pulling very hardly at all. I later realized I had the A/C on and my friend said that affects his Saturn's power BIG TIME but I though the A/C disengages at WOT for us? Then I did another run and got a pic at 115 before I ran out of clear road. I guess this means no limiter for me! Wahoo! Anyway, it was a fun afternoon.

i thought the GXE were the only ones with the limiters...so i'm guessin you wouldn't have to worry about that anyway huh?...

Your 60' time could improve a lot. Mine are usually in the high 2.2 range.

As for high speed accel...in that type of situation, turn OD off. This will keep you out of 4th gear for best accel. If you are running anywhere between 80 and 130, you want to stay in 3rd gear.
