Who makes the best Y-pipe

Thinking about getting a Warpspeed, Stillen or Catt Y-pipe, which is the most powerful and reliable?

I think Warpspeed and Cattman are stainless steel, and both offer mandrel bent. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Stillen Y-pipes are universal, so they come in two pieces for whatever version of maxima you are getting, and is ceramic coated. I'd go with Warpspeed or Cattman personally. Not sure about welding techniques (TIG vs. MIG) but I'm sure the people at www.warpspeedperformance.com can fill you in. Other websites are www.cattman.com and www.stillen.com. I got the Cattman because there was a group deal and greg from www.custommaxima.com recommended it. Fit fine, purchased new gaskets along with it, and everything has been fine. Although, since the exhaust is going through it more quickly and it is much lighter than stock, there is a lot of vibration at around 1000-1500 rpm. But in acceleration, you will learn to live with and love it. Good luck in your purchase, you won't regret it!

Stick with Warpspeed, I just ordered mine. The rest of them tend to be overpriced. My .02

What does boost have to do with Y pipe choices?

Now lil' Jeffy, you ought to know that some people tend to go with 3" piping with boost to increase the air flow in the exhaust....

I am going to order a Warpspeed when I get my next paycheck. Can you tell me how bad the vibration is going to be?

HOw do you figure that you will get a better pioe from cattman? They both offer mandrel bends and your choice of material. Mine fit perfect and I mean perfect. i put it on my self and it came with all the necessary seals. But I guess if you pay more for it then the air will flow throw it better, it just makes sense doesn't it?

I *think* the difference in price is in the welding craftsmanship.
Both WSP and Cattman are made out of same type of stainless steel and are TIG welded.

WSP y-pipe

The big difference other than price is the type of welds used. WSP uses fillet type welds known to be much stronger than butt welds. We also custom bend our pipes so we eliminate welds. Our pipes have up to 6 less welds. We don't piece together sections of mandrel tubing with butt welds. Less welds, no butt welds = longer lasting pipe.

i think i am going to go with a warpspeed one the price sounds right, however, how is the shaking, is it like the cattman, also is it worth the extra money for SS?

Re: Who makes the best Y-pipe

try this: save up some $$$, call up warpspeed and aske them how much it would be to get their best Y-Pipe and CAI at the same time (with shipping). Do the same with Cattman. Compare prices and go to the more expensive one with the other quote, deal 'em down.

Not bad on mine, I have a apex catback and it is kinda loud. If you stick with the stock muffler it would be pretty quiet. I would do that with a cat and b pipe. Same performance, less noise. WSP will take care of you........

I say Cattman. I gained a peak of over 16 h.p. at 5,500 rpms versus stock. That is to the "wheels", which means its good for the advertised 15-25 h.p. gain at the flywheel.

I haven't dynoed yet since my exhaust and intake were done.

I'm gonna have to go with Cattman as well. 3.5-4 mph increase in trap speed from just the Y-pipe. After that I'd have to go with Warpspeed, though I have no experience with the Warpspeed pipe.

Does the WSP $225 include shipping?

Hi, how much is shipping from warpspeed to Northern CA?
Approximately.
Thanks
