This Forum saved me $40!

It's true! I was messing around with my airfilter making a custom heatsheild and yanked the MAF plug out, started my car by mistake, then re-pluged it back in to find the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light come on. I called the dealer and told them what I did and if they could reset the light, and they said, "Sure, the ONLY way to reset the light is to hook it up to our computer. It'll just be $40."

So I said, "C'mon, isn't there another way to do it? Maybe unplugging the battery?"

They quickly replied, "Not on your Maxima. It can only be done by the computer."

So, there I was making an appointment when ALAS! Why not do a SEARCH on the forum?! And I did, to find that it's just a simple ECU reset with a srewdriver and wouldn't you know....it went off and I saved $40.

Stupid dealers!
