Look ALOT like the g35.. maybe it is the jap version of the G35... Although the rear window section reminds me of a british car.. cant think of what kind though...

That's a photo of the Nissan Skyline. I saw this pic about a month ago on another site. The Japanese Skyline is the same as our G35 but RWD only. The new Maxima will be a 2004 model release late 2003 and will be based off of the Altima chassis meaning it will be FWD and/or possibly AWD. My personal opinion is the two will look very similiar. As far as I know, there are no pics for this car yet. I say some sketches but who knows how accurate they are.

Maybe Nissan is going to same route they always have.

i30 = max
i35 = max
g35 = max

Change a symbol etc and rebrand it. A total possiblity and most likely the case.

My firm contact has told me for the last 2 years that the next gen Maxima will be RWD or AWD not FWD. Sorry but a bigger car than the Maxima in FWD will not work well. I believe my contact because he has yet to be wrong.

Expect to see the new maxima in late 2002 as a 2003 model.

That's definitely a Japanese plate. Been to Japan many a time and that's what their plates look like. The NY plates have the Statue of Liberty on it in red.

But in repsonce to the quote post, maybe Nissan is going to do the cross platform thing like that of Toyota with the Camry and Lexus with the ES300. Just that it doesn't make any sense though when the I30/35 platform is already based upon the max.

Your right about that. That is the new Nissan Skyline 300GT (as it's called in Japan) with it being called the Infiniti G35 here in the states. The cars plate is from the city of Tama, an area outside of Tokyo. I used to live in Japan now but live in much warmer climes over in Hawaii but I travel to Japan almost every month. Last month when I went, I stopped over at the Nissan showroom and I took a pic of the the Nissan Skyline. Check out my sig pic. I think Nissan is all wrong for going to this model and calling it a Skyline. What on earth were they thinking? But to make things better, they also came out with another sporty version of the Skyline, the R34 M Spec. One hell of a machine! Anyone want to see some pics and I would gladly post them. But no, that it is not the new Maxima-far from it. Aloha!

No, the license plates are not made up of six characters. Yes, you do see two numbers but the two different Japanese characters that you see is the city in which the car was registered. In this case, the city of Tama, a city outside of Tokyo. The plates are only a few characters long, depending on where the car was registered, with two different sets of numbers. Hope this helps.

How do you know they didn't use QuarkXPress or Illustrator? Maybe it wasn't Photoshop! I don't get what you fellas are talking about as far as Chinatown or NY plates go.

That is not the new Maxima. The new Maxima is going to have a V8, according to what all the dealerships around here are being told.

V8 and RWD... Nissan Mustang
I hope the new Altima performs as well as it looks. I will be looking for Altima.org!!
