95Max Vs '00 G20t

My neighbor has a 2000 Infiniti G20t with 17" rims, headers, intake, exhaust, 5spd.

I have a 95 GXE, with y-pipe, exhaust, stillen intake, VB upgrade (auto),17" rims.

We ran last night...from 50-90...it was pretty close, I ended up in front though...
He's getting turbo soon, and I have NOS in my room ready to be installed.

what will the outcome be if we raced from a stop?

Next time turn off overdrive and keep it off till you hit about 70 and then turn it on. You will fly past him.

By the way.. g20s are slow. A little slower than a 99-01 Altima.

Um, no.

If you are WOT at 70mph you will be in 2nd gear, about to shift into 3rd at 80mph. O/D off will have no effect at this low of a speed.

Why does everyone think O/D affects acceleration. Its just your 4th gear.

your extra torque should help lots, but once he goes turbo you lose. The G20 is really a sentra to a large extent and there is no reason he can't be just as fast as an SC or NOS maxima with correct tuning. Just look at what some of the Sentras can be made to do.

In fairness, OD off could help between 80 - 130 mph, because it will lock up the TC.

I had o/d off.

I was going 50 with OD off.
when I floored it, it dropped to 2nd. went up to about 80 before it shifted.

G20t's are slow? what are their 0-60 and 1/4mile?
rememeber, I'm an auto with VB upgrade and he has a 5spd. I don't think I killed him, it was fairly close.

Well if he has a 5 speed then his shifting could play a big role in it. It might have come down to the driver.

G20t goes from 0-60 in about9 seconds. It's pretty slow.

Actually I think they are slower than 9 seconds...they are dogs. From a dead stop, you should tear him a new @sshole...NO excuses.

I had a G20T

and it was actually pretty quick off the line, it had a limited slip differential which hooks up real well. I am sure it would be fairly close til about 70 then you should walk him pretty hard. The auto G20T is really slow.

The last test I saw was 10.8 to 60 or something like that for the G20, they are dogs and that engine is loud and whinny.

I'm gonna race him again...

I'll race him again from a dead stop!
We'll see how it goes...
From what you guys say, I should rip a new @sshole on my neighbor!
