Getting ready to buy wheels from the 00-01 Max, what size tire do I need?
I have a 97 GXE but just bought the 16" stock rims that come on the 00-01 Maxima's when I go to tirerack.com or any other web-site and it asks for year should I enter 00 or 01 since I have those tires? Thanks I think the ones I was looking at were 215/55-16 will those work? THanks

this website will let you do comparisons between the stock tire and a new tire...just need to input data...
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
i'm pretty sure the stock tire is 205/65/15, but not absolutely sure...but you can compare all the data, and it will even tell you how the speedo would be effected...hopefully this helps you

they will work but they are slightly wider then it should probably be to be close or perfect to stock..
I think me and you have the same wheels, I got some 2001 GLE/SE 16" 5 spoke wheels... I got Dunlop Sport A2 tires for them, in 215/55/16... Basically, that's the tire size they run stock on the 2001, and it's the same tire size that is on the 97-99 SE 5 spokes, which are exactly the same measurement as these wheels (16 X 6.5" ) It mismatches the overall diameter by very little.. nothing to worry about.. But 215/55/16 is the stock / suggested size..... if you want them to be more sporty... get 225/50/16... It is like WIDTH/THICKNESS/OVERALL DIAMETER OF WHEEL. so if the 1st # is 225, then they will be slightly wider, possibly better for cornering... I didn't want to bother with all that, I got the stock size, it looks good and handles awesome.. if u get some good tires, u are set.
btw, i have a 98 gxe
