I have been searching around on the org for this information. I have found quite a lot of info but need some clarification to piece it all together.

I will be running turbo at 5-7 lbs boost, should I get 1 step or 2 step colder plugs? My tuner recommends at LEAST 1 step.

So either:

1-step NGK PFR6G-11
2-step NGK PFR7G-11
(platinums)

I have also seen that we should reduce the gap 0.005" for every 50 HP above stock. Is this IN ADDITION to running colder plugs? I believe stock plugs are 0.043", does that sound right?

I have read people recommending BKR6E/7E (coppers) too! So which ones?

Stock gap is .044" My car seems to run better when they are gapped to .035". I had iridium plugs before but I'm running 2-step colder NGK coopers now.

 

what did you think about the iridium plugs. Haven't had time to put mine in. plus its too cold here.

 

I'm gonna go with the one-step colder NGK PFR6G-11 gapped at 0.40" now that my SC is in. This is per Y2Kevs advice. The plugs arrived yesterday ($8.88 from cortesy -$16 from dealer!). Good luck.

How much boost are you running on your s/c? Is it standard 6psi or small pulley 3.125"?

Does the NGK PFR6G-11 plugs come pre-gapped at 0.040" or did you change the gap yourself.?
I know the stock PFR5G-11 come pre gapped at 0.044".

I just purchased a set of 1 step colder NGK plugs. DO I need to gap 'em before I install them?
I am running 8psi boost on stock internals...

11 is the gap code for NGK, so they are .044"

 

Which NGK's do you recommend for a 96 Auto GLE with frankencar?
