Coolblue Headlights: Is this OK?

My driver's side low beam went out, so I replaced both of the lamps with Sylvania's 9004CB Cool Blue. I've read on the board about people having to replace the wiring harness as a result of aftermarket bulbs.
Q1: Am I running a risk here of doing the same thing?
Q2: Would I be able to do the same thing for the side markers w/o risk, to make them match?

well

i would recommend returning the bulbs because they are JUNK. go to a local rice shop and get you some apc hyperwhites and you will be amazed at the diff you see and the harnesses will be fine. just check them for wear before installation. want blue there is your ticket. and they only cost me 30.00.

you can get the HID for a very nice chunk of change if you like color so much,a friend of mine has a 2k with PIAA superwhites and they are pure white and are like spotlights,APC lighting products are cheap,i put some in my car once and it blew in the pep boys parking as soon as i put them in,get azzslammed for some HID if you love the (give me a ticket)color blue

No one else really answered your question, just went on a rant...

The Sylvania (Reputable brand of lights) is stock wattage and will not affect your wiring harness at all. The reason some change is when using over-wattage bulbs like some of the more expensive ones out there now...so to answer your ???, you should be fine...I will reserve my opinion for a PM.

Yes, as long as it's the same wattage as stock (55/65w or something?) you're fine. Overwattage bulbs are somewhere in the neighborhood of 75/85w or so. A bunch of 4th or 5th Gen guys are big advocates of the Phillips BlueVision bulbs. Apparently neither the Cool Blues or BlueVisions are actually blue (like those xenon fake HID bulbs) but more white - or so people say.

I've heard more complaints about both PIAA and APC than against the Sylvanias or Phillips... But I think they're a different kind of bulb than those two also. Try searching about these brands for lots of opinions and include more words in your search to avoid the "7495983125 hits syndrome"

those coolblues or bluevision and stuff are good bulbs
made by good manufacturers...
OEM wouldnt use them if they weren't

considering the Piaa and APC and whatever bulbs
cost more, will probably burn out sooner,
and will probably fry your harness...
i think the difference in light output
(if there even is one) is negligible

for those of you with Piaas, APC's, Cuzo's, whatever
those are good bulbs too if you have the $$

hey, i have matrix superwhites for high beams
and they cost me quite a bit of $$ and they're
probably not worth it but hey, i can be a riceboy
sometimes too

I've heard that the blues attract police attention. Why is that? And, I think I'm satisfied w/ the Coolblues's cause I didn't want a drastic color change, and I feel that these aren't blue at all. My car is basically stock, and it'd look stupid w/ blue lights and nothing else.

nooooo

i even pulled a cop over with mine to ask him if everything on my car was legit. he told me yes and they look great. i have even talked to state troopers and they love my red washer lights and hyperwhites. he said the only thing illigal so far is neon liscence plates. he told me my washer lights would be illigal if they blinked. go ask a local cop im sure he will agree. if it improves your vision then its better not illigal. thats for ohio not for your area. take a chance ask someone who might give you the ticket dont be scared of them they are there to protect and serve.

Re: nooooo

i agree. even if you have something illegal, if you go up to them first, they probably won't give you a ticket, just tell you to change it. but blue is illegal in most states. the coolblues put out a bright white beam, not blue at all. and they're perfectly legal i believe.

Dude - we've all had our run-ins with the cops...but don't dog the men and women that are out there in part to protect everyone, including your family.

oh just shut up! first of all, what i think most people don't realize is that cops are people, which is why some of them drive like morons and then pull people over for doing the same thing. but ticketing is just one part of their job. being a cop isn't gonna make them the best driver or anything, but most of them take their jobs seriously and have pride in what they do. and they do protect and serve. sorry...had to rant, but really...

.....And to bring up the question again over all the raving:
Does anyone know about getting matching side markers for my CoolBlues? And what about matching fog lamps. Currently I don't have anything at all.

Greaper must be the one with the mental ilness OR maybe he got
busted latley for doing something stupid/illegal.
Making statements like that only shows everybody how immature you are and you should probably have your licence stripped from yo ***.
Who do you think is gonna be the first to help you when you crash your car? Your mama?

And in answer to the original post - YES , you got the exact correct bulbs - best value/performance/correct wattage/hassle free bulbs out there. No problemo.
All those expensive bulbs are for guys that like:

1)fixing electrical problems or buying and installing the supporting hardware.( big $$$ )
2) outdriving their existing headlights/speeding.
3) think they are rally drivers
4) think that blue headlights are cool man , cool!
5) think that cool means they gonna get some ghetto chick
all heated up.

Don't know about the sidemarkers, but PIAA makes an insanely bright (so they say) H3 (maybe H4?) bulb. But then your fogs might be brighter than your headlights!

9004's suck.
