Cranking Problems & Other Questions
When I turned over the key in my ignition, my '99 Maxima tentatively cranked and but failed to start the engine. I'm not a mechanic but it almost felt as though there was not a sufficient flow of fuel to the engine. Could it be the fuel filter or the fuel pump? Would anyone have any idea as to the cost of replacing either?
I've had my '99 Maxima for three years and put 56,000 miles on it. I've followed Nissan's maintenance schedule and put only 92 octane fuel in it. The only part that I've had to replace has been the rear brakes. Would anyone have any idea as to what parts I'll have to replace in my car over the next few years?
Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem, and I just replaced the fuel filter.. It was a real pain in the a$$ to do, but so far the car starts up fine..
