almost totaled my car last night!
well last night i was racing my friend in his auto 4cyl accord. We started from a light and i gave him about a 2 car head start then i puched it, at about 85 i blew by him and kept going to 100 but there was a stop light and it turned red so i hit the brakes and the car wasnt slowing down too much. The cars at the intersection were satarting to move so i thought to myself i couldnt go straight cause i would hit someone. So i took a hard right at about 60 and my car started to slide across 2 lanes of traffic and then i pulled into a house. Thank god the other people were able to stop. I also had 2 other people in my car and i odnt know wat i would have done if they would have gotten hurt. My friend in the accord was able to stop but i was going faster than him. lets just put it that i was taking a ****! so what can i do to make my car stop faster that wont cost that much?
Don't race, then you won't have to worry about it....and if your gonna race, get the big brake kit...Wilwood is only $995. Its your life as well as others, why would you want to go cheap?
Re: almost totaled my car last night!
Get some Cross-drilled/slotted rotors and some sport pads. I've got brembo cross-drilled rotors and sport pads. The car stops a lot better, in my opinon. It cost me $1000 CDN, so thats roughly $670 USD.

try empty mall parking lots or something like that.
Racing is not smart with other people in your car. I'm sure you heard about what happened to Clee and RBa. It's okay to put your life at risk but putting others at risk is just wrong. Race at the track, there you'll have plenty of room to slow down.

I made a similar mistake this weekend. Just checked my brake pads and noticed they really need to be replaced
I was going pretty fast tried hitting the brakes but they didn't seem to work like they usually did. *sigh* smashed up my front left on the guard rail. Its a relatively easy fix I just need to pickup a new skirt + bumper.
