tirerack.com will not guarantee my tires will fit

i want to put 215/65/15 tires on my 95. they say they won't fit according to them. he said a 235/55/15 will or a 215/60/15. i want the 65 series so the wheel gap doesn't look to bad. right now i have 205/65/15 on.

is 65% of 10 extra cm going to make the wheel gap look that much better? Just get p205/65/15.

The tire will fit, but they are covering their asses by not warrantying them if they don't recommend that they fit. Why do you need them to warranty the tire so badly?

Big balloon monster truck tires to reduce wheelgap is not a good idea from an aesthetic point of view. If they won't warranty them there's not much you can do. Take the risk or get the correct size tire.

Lemme get this straight... You want them to warranty a tire that isn't the right size for your car. Why on earth would they? If I make a product that's rated to work from 0C-50C and someone wants to use it at 100C that's fine, but they're not going to get a warranty.

But... I think I'm going to call up tirerack and order some 315/30/19's for my moms minivan and make sure they warranty 'em. I mean sure they're the wrong size and maybe they won't fit and I'll damage them, but they should cover them anyway.

Please... Get a clue. No one is going to warranty something that's used outside of it's specification.

If you're so certain they will fit and work then buy them and accept the risk. Do not expect someone else to assume the liability for your decisions and risks.

I did what your trying to do with your tires and take it from me it looks dumb. You'll have more rubber and still have wheel gap.

Well right now I have my stock 15" GLE rims with the stock tire size Yokohamas. I replaced the larger 15" tires on my ALT's after I wore them out. I still have the 15" ALT rims with bald tires in my garage but I will go back to my 17" Konig's as soon as the weather gets a bit warmer.
