Walbro Fuel pump owners...help!

I bought it from autoperformanceengineering.com...got the right part# and everything. Do you have to do something special to get it to fit in a 5th gen? My mechanics said it dosn't fit...

don't know.. even the 4th Gen one wasn't made for the 4th Gen.. you might have to make it a hybrid pump.. ask Don in TX he is running some kind of hybrid pump in his 4th Gen.. i think its the 300 ZX pump.. maybe you can use the same steps to modify your Walbro pump

I have the Walbro pump in my car. It wasn't hard at all to put in took about 1 hour. Just simply remove the entire unit from the gas tank, pull of the plastic housing w/ the sending unit and you have to push real hard on the top of the old pump to pop it out. Then put the new filter on the bottom of the pump and reinstall.

Kev, you may need to sticky this too because, a bunch of guys on here talked about this pump, but no one ever talked about the install. ITS NOT JUST A DROP IN REPLACMENT! You have to do some other stuff to get it to fit. My mechanic asked me where the hell I got the damn thing from because it dosn't look like it fits at all when he pulled out the old pump...made me look like an idiot!!
Can you please be a little more specific on how exactly it is installed? Anyone else who has had this mod done, please feel free to add any helpful suggestions! Thanx...

BottleFedMax is the first person I've seen with the Walbro. Sounds like The New CLIMAX also has it on his car.

We talked about it, but no one ever mentioned a sucessful install.
