Dyno Results

I have a 2000 5 Speed Federal Spec with JWT Intake and Cattman Y-pipe as a my performance mods.

First Pull:
Max Power= 168.7
Max Torque= 191.6

Second Pull:
Max Power= 171.1
Max Torque= 195.3

Something is definetly wrong with my car here. I will post the plot once I get it scanned.

I don't see why the torque is so high and the hp is so low. I had the complete opposite result when I dynoed my stock 5spd, 181.6 hp and 178.1 tq. w/ heavy *** 17" Borbet Type M's.

Defintely looks like the VIAS is not working properly. I suggest you link up with John (Max_Gator) and compare dynos as he's experiencing the same phenomenon. Good luck proving this to the dealer. That will be a task onto itself, as John has experienced first hand. Without MIL errors the dealer will say there's nothing wrong. However, don't let that stop you. Take your dyno to the dealer and be prepared to go all the way to Nissan corp if you have to.

I thought 5th gens had more power and torque than fourth gens? Mine dynoed at 170 HP and 192 ftlb Torque. Mine was a 97 with CAI and Y pipe.

With the mods he has, he should be putting down around 200 to the wheels.

Sounds like 2k2dmax is correct and his problem is similar/same as mine.

Unfortunately, his problem may be EVEN WORSE than mine. My dyno is 164 hp STOCK.

But, its hard to tell without seeing the dyno (that's why I told you to get it on disk ), however, If you have the same problem as I do, your max hp is right around 5k rpms - just before runners are supposed to change.

You may want to take a look at mine and compare it to yours. Let me know how it compares.

My Peak HP occured at 4800 rpms and stayed pretty much flat until redline when it dropped. I compared my dyno chart to yours and they look very similar. It appears that your peak HP was around 5000 rpms. Sorry I didnt get it on disk to post the dyno, Ill have it scanned hopefully today.

The variable kicks in around 5000-5200?

What type of dyno was it? Dynojet? Mustang?

Well, then I'll be we both have the same problem.

It is going to be a while before I can get Nissan to admit I have a problem because I'm having a time scheduling a visit when I can be there, madmax2k for comparison, the tech and the service manager.

You may want to wait until I figure out the problem. Or, if you are industrious, take off your ypipe and intake and see if you can get your local guys to admit to the problem.

Yours appears worse than mine since your figure is with y and intake -it may be easier for you to convince the dealer there is a problem.
