Removing the resonator.

Is there a HOWTO for removing the resonator on a 4th gen maxima? I understand it will reap no gains for performance, but I would like to see how the additional noise will affect me throughout my long drives and such, before I install intake and a y-pipe.

Through search I found a HOWTO for the 3rd generation maxima; how different is the removal of the resonator for the 3rd gen compared to the 4th gen?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have no clue about the how to since i got the whole B-pipe replaced but you'll love the sound and you'll gain a lot of ground clearance

The intake resonator, I'm assuming it is easier.

ok in this case... if your talking about that big black box in front of your throttlebody... you'll really love the sound. Plus you'll feel a lil more power... i know i did... if you want a pic of how mine looks i'll send you an email

Did you remove the intake resonator yourself? I can't find any removal instructions so I would appreciate it if you could tell me how you did it.

once you remove it then you will either have to buy to PR upper tube or fabricate your own tube to connect the 2 hoses

Bill -

Its really quite simple. There are 3 vacume hoses running into the resonator. Remove them. Pull the resonator off the throttle body (there may be a clamp on it), then pull it off the MAS.

Replace it with an upper PR CAI Piece or something else and re-hook up the vacume hoses.

Note: If you use the PR piece, there is a hole for the intake air temp sensor..that is located in the piping going to the stock air box.
