it may be a while. i still have to think about it a little. im not sure if i'd want to do it. plus my dad flat out told me he didnt want me doing "stuff" to this car like i did with my 96 so we'll see.
by the way, we're the exact same age 7/27/82

i considered this too when i came up with the idea of paining my grill. Pilager kind of did that to his car. he got some kind of black tape and covered up the chrome trim. go to maxima.cardomain.com and his car shold be #1 in the list on the right hand side.

i went by a body shop today. the estimater wasnt there but the guy i talked to told me maybe around $50 or $60 to paint the gril. not a big set back.

charlie, remember that guy augie who said he took his grill out because his uncle owned a metal shop and he was going to make a custom grill? did he ever post anything about how to take the grill off? ill PM him and ask him.

what type of paint would you consider using? it would have to be something very tough because the grill wil get hit by rocks too even if the slats are relatively slim.

i was going to get it professionally painted. bumpers get hit by rocks too so i dont think ill need any extra special paint.
i like the way the chrome hamburger looks on the black grill. i dont think ill paint that.

i never actually touched the grill myself but i sort of glanced over as the guy was putting it back in. he actually said to me "this is one of the more easy ones to get in and out" without me even bringing it up. i think you just undo 2 bolts in the back then it slides right out.
