Corolla riceboy @ Nissan dealership talks some JUNK about maximas!

Either this guy is a moron or 90% of people here lie about their track times.

Let me first say this guy DID give me compliments on how my car looked and stuff, but he what he said about Maxima's speedwise really ticked me off.

We got into talking about running at tracks and stuff, and he said he's seen a few maxima's run, and the last one he saw ran a 16.7. So I go 'that sucks!'. And he goes, noo, not really, maxima's run 16.6's from the factory. I told him I'd be running in the 15's and he goes "No you wont". I told them stock 5spd maxima's run 15 flats stock and around there (15.0-15.3). He just shrugged THAT info off.

He then tells me anything under a 17 is respect in his eyes . I asked his best track time and he says it's a 16 something. He usually runs 17's. He said he was getting a turbo that would take 2 seconds off his E/T And he said his engine cant handle over 8psi of boost or a 40-shot of nos or it'll blow sky-hi! LOL. He had a huge spoiler, kit, graphics all over, motega's, those HUGE dual tipped ebay mufflers, and some other rice.

Then he tells me about how maximas are really heavy and that we have 240HP. I just smiled and corrected him.

So anyways I could go on and on, but I just wanted to VENT. Obviously Maxima's run 16's and 17's stock to him, and he was bein a p#ssy and saying how the import seen just can't compete with domestics. Yea, not in a freakn corolla!

Well I think they do have turbos for the Corolla. It probably would take almost that much time off the ETs(more like 1.5 sec maybe). Whether his ricy butt is going to get one is another story.

Well yea he says the turbo is being made or some **** like that.

It's just frustrating that becuase a couple people can't drive their cars that Maxima's get bad reps. He and his friend who worked there (Prelude, VERY modded, best E/T was a 16.6!).

I mean even the Magazines, the people who usually are wrong, timed the '95 auto at like 15.7 1/4th.

I have CAI, Y, Catback with no resonator, 17x8 caffeines (20lbs each), dropped,... I should be easily into the 15's right ??? What p!sses me off is when I told him I would he was like "Uh I don't think so"

Craig, I can't believe you just let them talk to you like that. If it was me, I would challenge him to a race right there. Maybe even some money down to shut him up.

My car did run 16.1

When I had 18" Konig monsoon and just a rear section muffler. I thought it was pretty good for an auto. Ran few back to back 16.1s. After intake, it was running 15.7s.

Well Craig I may have been the Maxima he saw that ran in the 17's and 16's in the quarter. You said Bithlo and that's where I raced before I got stationed over here in South Korea. I fudged up both times on my manual shifts. The first time I was so nervous that I went from 1st to neutral and I didn't even realize it to the car started slowing down. On that one I ran a pathetic 17.3 and the next time I went from 1st to D at only 4,800rpms and ran a 16.3. These were my first 2 times ever at the track and this is the first auto i've ever owned. So wasn't excactly an expert on manual shifting an automatic and i'm sure if I hadn't messed up I would have been in the 15's easily. Sorry for representing the Maxima's so bad, but to my defense it was my first time and my first auto. Maybe when I come back to Florida in November of this year you can show me how it's really done. Then I can possibly redeam myself and the Maxima name.

What is venting about stupidness like this on the .org do you for you craig?

Go to the track - rack up a timeslip, and show it to him. Then tell him to stick his foot in his mouth and walk away.

when people w/ no clue try and talk to me about my car i just 'yes' them to death and go ....

* ' oh , I didn't know my car had 175hp either. I just drive it.'

* 4 wheel alignment? Ok, right. I gotta go.

* Oh, Stillen makes the best stuff for the Max? I should get some stillen stuff? Cool.

* The GLE comes with 10 more hp? I thought so, too bad I only have a GXE. damn.

It's not even worth arguing ..........

I think the Maxima has to be one of the most under-estimated 4-door sedans out there, it boils my blood when people make that assumption but at the same time I like it because that look in their face when you show them what our 3.5 liter can do is priceless.

Craig....please run him and get back to us.

D'oh! You discrace

Yes maybe we can go to the tracks, but like everyone is saying here he isn't worth it. Like I said he has a COROLLA and runs neons for gosh sakes. I would really like to run into a riceboy or some car enthusiasts who knows what a Max is capible of and doesn't shoot ignorant comments out of his @ss.

The owner of their car club, about 30 riceboys, have a '90s prelude. ALLL riced out. 5spd. Best run ever? 16.6

This is the way to go... =)

BTW - I wouldn't be putting down neons too much... you're liable to get your *** kicked by one real quick if it's modded nice. Those cars are going fast now (although with a lot of $$$).
