2nd Auto tranny rebuild

I will have to do my second auto tranny rebuild next week because my tranny its sliping as H***. The first rebuild was not well done my tranny wasnt feeling good and I take it to the mechanic and he told me thats cause i race to much the car! and the tranny kit we use was no nissan oem.
But now i decided to take it to another mechanic.
He told me that the previus rebuild was not well done and stuff.he told me that my clutch rings were burned and have to replace then and all the tranny seals.
He offers me some BROZE clutch rings insted off the regular ones (that are made of a conpound similar to tra brake pads one in espanish its called asbesto i dont know in english how you call it).He told me that he will put a stronger kit of seals too.
He also told me that the this bronze clutch rings are like the manual broze clutch that have lot of more grip.
Have you donde the broze stuff to your trannys?

BTW. I live in Dominican Republic, the labor its dont pay as high as USA so my rebuild with Broze clucths will be like 350 usa dollars and if its without the broze its 225. with 4 moth of guarante.
Really cheap

You lucky bastard..$250 for a rebuild, even $350, even $500..*jealous*

Anyway, I don't know about this bronze stuff, if it's stronger than oem go with it. After the rebuild this time, do yourself a favor and get a transmission cooler.

Good luck!

Re: 2nd Auto tranny rebuild

damn only $350....GOOD LORD, I'm moving to the Domincan Rep.!!! but yeah I think its Raybestos(??) who makes the upgraded clucthes, etc. I heard the later 3rd gens(93-94) used these in the auto trannies, not too sure though....
