Security System locked me out

Okay, so it's @!#!* cold in wisconsin right now, and i went to warm up my car outside my girlfriends house. started up and closed the door... then the power locks went down. i smash my head on the window and remember that this only happens when it's cold out. the cops came around 2:30 am to try to slimjim it (yeah right) but that failed, so my dad drove 30 min to bring me a spare. the car had been running for an hour at that point, but only burnt 1/8th tank of gas. anyone know how i can fix this annoying problem of it locking me out?

i'm aware that there is a sensor under the seat to check if you're sitting in it or not... could that be suck down? or is it the power lock relay?

Because of that, I always roll the window down just in case those stupid doorlocks decide to randomly lock. I hate that.

Smart... I did the same thing.. ITs good to have copies in you house and another set in your wallet.. It saved me tonight as a matter of fact.. Put the auto lock on the gas petal and put my car keys in the ebrake place.. i took out the groceries and got out of the car... got to my door and no key.. had to walk down the street to get my keys out of the car...lucky spare in my wallet... AS well as leaving my keys in the trunk on time in the middle of no where... So its very vital to keep it in you wallet... Put it like this.. take the key and keep it with you license and regestration.

Btw i dont have the code to the alarm/keyless entry.. PPLe told me to look under the pas dashboard and you could see the number.. Well for me there aren't any numbers writen in there... Is ther any other way to find out the reset code?

I was told that any Nissan dealer can look it up if you give them the VIN number... But you sure it's not there? I posted a link a couple days ago to a site, I think it's www.kalebonline.com that tells exactly where to look and what numbers to pull off it.

I have a '91. It never locks itself. But I went to the dealer and they made me this plastic key thing. I keep it in my wallet, but it only works in the door, not the ignition, so if someone gets it, they can't take your car.

Good news i did find it

damn this little box was tricky to get to, now it took me 2 tries to enter a new code.. now it works... Power windows come down and the truck releases.... but why did they put this feture in our maxima's

it seems to take some 4-5 seconds to put in the code... Anyways it beats going to the dealer and have them take out the controll unit to re prohgram it.. atleast that is what they told me... Whew Saved me 100Dollars or more... ANd this is Manhattan Ny prices... I dont seeee why they need to take out the unit.. when like i just did and look under the damn dashboard...

Thank fellas... now if i ever lock my keys in i dont have to reach into my wallet for the spare unless i have to... keeps it more secure for other might be watching me
