Strange but I agree very different and cool. I wonder if you could do it with common parts found around home depot type stores.

I actually talked to the seller about this and he said he would offer it to us in a GD if people wanted it...Obviously I told him that our members are very disconcerting individuals and don't take to weird stuff too well...we (for the most part) like simple stuff.

But we (mostly me) want to see more pictures or videos for this to make certain it is not ghey

Those are so easy to rig. All you need is two of those kitchen cabinet hinges and few new holes. That's it.

Tony is right, it's really easy to rig. Some friends of mine have it on their Altima's, Neons, and Civics. Go to Home Depot, it would cost you about $10-$15 in brackets, if that.

I JUST DID THIS TO MY FRIEND'S MAXIMA... he has a 97 SE and we got two of those hinges, some sell tapping screws, some rivets and a pop rivet gun (hand held job).. and unbolted the top mounts and remounted it with the hinges.

I recommend painting the hinges first, it will look a lot better and more stock.. some people like it some people don't. very simple mod to do yourself.

PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS ON EBAY

As mentioned before this can be done for like $10-15. This kid sold these kits under a different name but changed because of huge negative feedback. He stated he was selling the "idea" mostly...the parts were a bonus....don't get fooled...buy the parts at home depot.

do you have some kind of write up on the install? I think it would be a cool "almost free" mod

a couple questions- is this safe for the trunk? I mean, say if it would accidentally close, would the trunk smash itself and scratch the hood from hitting the latch on the bottom? what about the botom of the trunk's edge, would that slam into the 2 arms when you open it?

if you get 90 degree hinges and take yuor time to line everything up it should be fine.

That would be pretty cool. Does it take alot of space from how much the trunk opens? I mean can you still reach in just as easy etc?

that thing works, but it involves getting a special magnifying lense and you have to have the tv upside down
