I called the dealer about a Knock Sensor, and the parts guy says...
"Who's telling you its the Knock Sensor, those are often dummy codes, and you should check your O2 Sensors"
Any thoughts on that one????
I've already replaced my right O2 Sensor, and after noticing a loss in power, I naturally assumed that my KS was KO'd.
And, after checking the .org for so long, it seems to be a fairly
common issue (group deal anyone?)...and I currently have 100K miles on my car, so, maybe it was just its time...
thanks everyone!

yeah, it may be time. I recently relaced mine at 120,000 Did you pull your codes? You shouldn't just replace it unless the ECU tells you it's bad. Also, if you have a Haynes manual, I think they tell you how to check one w/ a multimeter. Good luck.

Yes, I've pulled the codes myself
and received NUMEROUS KS codes, the occasional O2 code, and once a Mass Air Flow Code! I've been having intermittent problems for quite some time...I cleaned my Throttle Body, and the problem is less pronounced, but, still rears its ugly head once in a while
Thanks!!!
Easy there killer, after re-reading your original post; maybe the Nissan guy thinks that since the K.S. doesn't trip the CEL it's not a legitimate problem? Did you ask him what he meant? Do you get gas from the same station and you do run 92 or higher right? If you keep getting the K.S. code you should replace it - don't think about what the Nissan guy says. I'm sure you've read the other "testimonials" on this site where people praise replacing the K.S. Good luck and hope your car feels better soon.

couple things:
1) I ALWAYS run 92 or higher...normally 94...and I will often drive around until I find it!
2) Yes, I keep getting the KS code...
3) Thanks for the advice...much appreciated!

My car has been spittin out the KS code for a yr now. My mechanic told me a while back when i had all of the o2 sensors changed and the 60k tune-up that sometimes the computer throws a false code. And now that my check engine light is on and off litterally everyday i think its time for that knock sensor. Thats the only code i get when i check the ecu.
unless i missed something.
Figures today my car starts hesitating again like it did when one of my old coil packs went bad
guess ill buy another one and hopefully solve the problem for another yr, lol.
