y not 5-spd for 2k2 auto?

i always wonder y on this topic...like some brands, they made the car to 5-spd cuz they have so much horse power. and i think if 2k2 max has 5-spd, it would be really nice during the highway driving. i always thought that the max should be 5-spd auto cuz the manuel is 6-spd. anybody knows y?? i just curious all the time!

thanks

New Maxima is comming out soon. I guess Nissan is waiting until the next generation.

My speculation is that it will have the Q45's 5speed similar to the G35.

At least we don't have a 5speed with two overdrive ratio's like some "other" car...

Or have a 4speed with two overdrive ratio's like some "other" car...

Guess which one I'm talking about and you win a cookie

I read somewhere that Nissan was busy working on a 5AT tranny for their FWD cars. They're late and they know it. I think the I35 is supposed to get one in a year or so. Not sure if it'll happen before the redesign.
