Weighed my 17" Konig Verdicts today, not as heavy as I thought?
I put them on the bathroom scale today, the wheel and tire combo that is. 17x7 Konig Verdicts and 235-45-17 Kumho 712s. Grand total of 42lbs. The wheel itself is *supposedly* 23 lbs, according to wheelweights.com. That leaves 19lbs for both the tire and the air inside it (compressed air inside a tire DOES have weight). 19lbs for a Kumho 712 235-45 is rediculously light, so one of 2 things is happening here. Either my bathroom scale is weighing them on the light side, or the Konig Verdict is not a 23 lb wheel. Has anyone actually weighed the 17x7" Verdict or 235-45-17 Kumho separately?
I also weighed my 15" MSW 6-spoke alloys that I use for drag racing and winter driving. With the fully inflated Kelly Charger 205-65-15s they weighed 37lbs on the bathroom scale.

Home scales are usually several pounds off. My weight is sometimes 6 pounds different from the doctor's scale.
I weighed my 17x8 Caffeines and they came out to 40lbs. each. But the rim only weighs 19.9 so I assume that's fairly accurate.
Also if your home scale is a little old it could be easily off tune.

What do you mean compressed air has weight?
Call me stupid but I've never heard that. How much per say 5lbs or 10lbs of pressure?
I just cut 4.5lbs per wheel but if I pump pressure to say 55lbs what am I losing there?
I do remember that gas (fuel tank) is like 6lbs per gallon or something but air?
P.S. My Borbet's w Summ tires (235/45/17) combine for 48lbs. Good for practice runs - kinda like wearing weights to make you jump higher
