Evidently the scaffold operator didn't secure the scaffold properly and there were high winds blowing it all around while hanging off the side of a building. Unfortunately, the scaffold fell a number of stories and fell on a Maxima and an Accord which killed the people inside. The cars were totally crushed.

There was a thread about it a few days back, the day of the accident. Such a tragedy. I think it was 3 people who were killed.

If the Maxima had a roll cage, do you think the occupants would have survived? Or would the safety of the roll cage be negligble?

Makes you wonder why manufacturers don't have roll cages in the car from the factory.

would a roll cage really be able to hold up to the weight of a scaffolding falling from that high?...i'm not quite sure that it would, but i could be wrong

I work in a building that's pretty tall for Boston's standards and I see these guys cleaning the windows everyday. I tell ya, I look up all of the time when I walking near a tall building in Boston. There has been cases in the past where these guys have fallen off of the scaffolds and hit the ground below. As far as the article goes, I can't believe the scaffold basically crushed the cars that were involved.
