1157 Dual Filament...which one is which?

I need to know which one of the two filaments is the higher wattage one. Usually the sizes are 8/27w or 5/21w correct?

I'm asking because I have two slightly used PIAA Xtremes...I probably used them for a few days, but I noticed today (after removing them a few weeks ago) that one of the filaments is curling...it makes a slight arch rather than a straight line from one wire to the other.

Could this be due to the shaved nib mod that I did?

It is the highest one up closest to the bulb.

are you sure? It seems like the lower one, furthest away from the top of the bulb, has a Thicker filament (coil diameter) than the other one.

If I'm wrong, then man, the 1157 rewire really warps the filament.

Thats what happens to filaments after there used for a while. Take a peak at a 100 Watt 110 Volt bulb after it's been in service for a year. It ain't pretty!!

It is what I did on mine, then you just put it in backwards.
