Anyone ever gotten a O2 sensor code then get it to clear?

I got the front "left" 02 sensor code this morning (0303). I cleared it and it hasn't come after driving today. Has anyone gotten a fluke O2 code and had it clear or am I doomed My car drives perfectly, it's not running rich, and doesn't smell like gas. My car is a 96 with 80K miles and none of the O2s have been replaced.

BTW, what have you guys spent on a O2 sensor?

I've gotten the rear 02 sensor code 0707 several times in past...every time, I just reset it and it hasn't thrown that code for about a year.

On a side note, a few months ago, I was getting the infamous EVAP code left and right (I'd reset it and it'd come back on after 15 min. of driving). It was like this for several weeks, but finally one day it stopped and hasn't shown it's face again.

I hope I didn't just jinx myself. *knock wood*

Over the span of 3 months, I got the very front O2 CEL maybe 4 times... each time after I left my car overnight and it rained. Would pop up shortly after startup. I thought I would replace it but I tried re-seating the connector right in front in the engine bay and it never reappeared since!

I'd give it a try unless the CEL pops right up after you cleared it...

Thanks guys. I'll probably just watch it. I'll probably check the connector, wiring, and the pull the sensor itself and check for any odd build up on the sensor.

from what i understand...all the 02 sensor cel is just to indicate to u that the 02 sensor is bad...not necessary any mechanical problem..just a bad sensor...so yeah u can have a bad sensor and the car drives perfectly...

Funny you should ask. About 6 months ago, I got some strange codes-cylinder 6 misfire. I cleared it and it came back on two days later. Took it to the dealer and thy called Nissan. Nissan said it's the O2 sensors. They replaced at least two of them.
Just last week, I get the mil light on. Read the codes but didn't make sense to me. Cleared them, and they came back on the next day. Took it to the dealer and they replaced all three O2 sensors. And-get this- they questioned my cat. The service manager said there was some indication the stock cat was not on and that the O2 sensors were replaced before. I pleaded ignorance. It was covered under warranty.
Last night I put the stock cat back on since the lease is almost up and I don't want codes to come up again. It?s for sale if anyone wants it.

Bad O2 sensor caused my car to idle funny at stop lights. It felt like a misfire. After numrous resets, I finally replaced it. It idled perfect after the replacement.

on my SC

my rear o2 tripped, then i reset it, and it went away for 2 weeks. tripped again, reset, came back in a day.

i ignored it cuz of the first reaction to me resetting.. later when the car was up for oil change, i noticed my o2 wiring was sliced/shredded.

been driving with CEL for a while now, i check occassionally, same code still. ill tap it together sometime to see what it does

ok....now I got a weird one. I got a CEL for the rear bank O2 about 2 monthes ago on my way home from Visiting my brother about 2.5 hours away. I reset it...and it didn't come back on until I drove to Michigan 2 weeks later....also a trip OVER 2 hours. I reset it then and haven't taken a 2+ hour trip since then and it's never tripped again.....hmmmm

Well in the past, not currently, I had to reset my ECU a few times. Reminder my car is 1995 GLE. Here is where it is weird. If I start the car immediately, I get the "check engine" light, but if I start the car after the initial beeps, then I don't have that problem, now that is odd, and car runs fine, can anybody figure that out?

remains a mystery

it seems like everyone has the same blasted o2 sensor problems. i hooked up a a/f meter to my front o2 sensor and that tripped the CEL. then it switched to right side injectors rich. now its added knock sensor. hopefully i will be replacing the knock sensor this weekend and reseting it. ill see what i get. tired of driving with that orange light in my face.
