Took my car to a maxima dealer!

I took my car to a maxima dealer to get an oil change, and I guest the guy that changed my oil saw my intake. He pulls my car out and calls over his buddies and pops the hood to show them my intake. I guess he revved the engine! They acted like they never seem an intake in a maxima before, they were looking at it like it was a car they never seen.

how much was their oil change? i guess they would know what best oil fits maxima's, but i'm afraid they might charge the most...like 25 bucks or more

I use synthetic. MUCH better for the engine.

But if I don't do it myself (which i usually do, but not in winter), it costs me $59.99.

last time a dealer saw my intake he just gave me this HUGE lecture about how Nissan spent 6 million on designing my car, and there was no way to improve it....blahblahblah.

it was probably more like $6 billion....

There's no way they could develop a car for the world market for $6 million.

what's funny is that when i was looking at buying my 98 Max a week or so ago, there was some sort of special edition max on the showroom floor done BY NISSAN with a JWT Pop Filter and stillen strut bar and ****. Funny your guy didn't know what it was...

He's in DC. The nissan dealers around here don't know crap. I usually hang around the BMW dealers. They are more knowlegable.

it seems like there are two extrems at dealerships. They either love a modded car, or hate it. Dealerships are weird.

Oh yeah. And they told me there is no way to adjust the idle speed because the ECU controls it. There's another dealer a couple of towns over, where I bought my car, that's cool. They sponsor a race car, and the parts guy saw my car and is taking care of me better now. Still doesn't make me a big dealer fan.

20-25 bucks is for that bulk oil out that big container. DONT USE THAT. Go synthetic for around $40. Its the white bottle with the green or blue top.
