2K1 Wheel nut questions
2K1 Wheel nut questions
A few easy questions, hope someone helps me out.
I'm gonna take off the winter tires next week-end, and figured i'd do some stuff like putting on locking wheel nuts on my 17" rims.
1) What is the wheel nut size? 1/2", 13mm, 7/16", or 16mm?
2) I don't like how the bolt threads are left exposed by the nuts, Anyone have any problems with this (corrosion, galling) or find a way to cover them up? On my winter rims I put some ugly hubcaps on to hopefully keep them cleaner but I know this isn't a good long term solution. Can u use standard covered nuts on the standard rims (or on winter steel rims)?
3) Anone use the jack that came with the car to change tires? Is this a bad idea? Are bottle jacks any good (they're cheap)?
As you can tell this is my first time doing the big changeover, never owned a car with winter tires before.
Thanks for any ideas/help.
