Waxing... How often is ok?
If you are serious about keeping your Maxima looking it's best, then I strongly recommend your consider ZAINO PRODUCTS. Their line of detailing products are the best on the market. Although a bit more expensive than what's on the shelf at the local Pep Boys, Zaino products are concentrated so that you actually end up using less per application.
Waxes typically have a limited life span which is why you find yourself having to reapply them to keep a shine. Zaino polishes do not deteriorate, wipes off easily, has an antistatic property (newly waxed surfaces attract dust!), and actually build layers as you apply additional coats. You can't do that with conventional waxes. Check'em out, you won't be sorry.

There are people that have dealer agreements with Zaino to sell the products, but their prices are the same as from the Zaino website.
Eckler's (a Corvette aftermarket supplier) is the only place I've found to order the products on line (with a credit card). But even they do not carry the entire Zanio product line.
I use Zaino, too, and I use it as often as I can. There is no limit as to how much polishing you can do, but there may be a mute effect with regular waxes. With a polish like Zaino, they encourage more repeated uses to get a deeper shine.
Only one word needed: Zaino!
I applied 4 coats to my gray lustre 2k1 SE on June 21, 2001. Last week (March 9, 2002), I washed the winter grime off my car- the water is STILL BEADING like the day I finished putting Zaino waxes on it. This stuff is fantastic. Yes it's a little more expensive and complicated than other waxes but the durability and looks make up for it.
And no, I'm not a shill for Zaino products.
Like the old commercial said: "Try it, you'll like it!"
