HLSD issues, shady dealers etc..

CAN IT BE THIS HARD!?!

WTF I've been to or called around to at least 6 dealers in the So. Cal area and I have NOT been able to locate a single HLSD maxima. Most of the time, they give me a blank look when I say HLSD, and then make up some bullsh!t about how that option doesn't exist. Provided they DO know what it is, or after I explain to them what it is, they seem to enjoy telling me that "oh, that won't be out till next year."

BS! I tell them I personally know ppl all over the country have and are driving these cars already, and they've been in production since Dec, 2001. Then they reluctantly agree to run a locate for me and proceed to give me all sorts of B.S. for several days.

Only one dealer has been truly helpful and that guy was a board member. Thanks Vince. But regardless, I can't find the car I want. The ones I've been able to locate are coming in a month or more, are not the color I want, and have too many damn options. only like 1 or 2 cars anyway.

So, I've got two options, buy a car in a color I don't really want, and options I don't need, or put an order in and wait God knows how long while my daily driven trade in depreciates in value.

Sorry, I had to vent, this is really frustrating, never have I encountered such apathy in earning my business. It's like they don't want me to buy a car from them.

If anyone is a dealer in california, or knows someone who has a gray lustre 2k2 6 spd with bose and leather plz PM me.

Sorry for the rant,
Dennis

The sales guys have probably been told that it is not worth the time and moeny to the dealership to special order the car. I'm sure they are more concerned about selling the cars that are currently on the lot. So the manager most likely has told the sales men to tell prospective customers that the HLSD can't be found (or something stupid like that).

Yes, that's exactly the attitude that most of them have the managers that i've spoken to directly are usually more helpful but still we're looking at 6-12 weeks for anything remotely close to what i need.

thanks for the response..

When I was calling around my local dealerships about buying a 6spd Maxima, not a single sales guy I talked to knew what HLSD was. The one exception was a Nissan sales manager who happened to answer my call, he knew exactly what I was talking about (it turned out that he didn't have one, but at least he knew what HLSD was). There was even one guy who wasn't even sure if Maximas came with a manual transmission!

Ask for Andrea (Extension 390).

She will help you out and give you good prices.

If you find what you need tell her Daniel Swank told you about her so I can get extra cash!!!

But seriously, she is very nice.
