2Y2 Y-Pipe, Free Flow Cat info

Hey all,
Talked to Warp Speed today and they say that they havent even started working on a Y-Pipe for the 2002 Maxima. He said they will do some research next week. He believes that the 2Y2's will not need to change the Cat due to the stock being "metalic" and actually increasing HP. I'm depressed now, was hoping to start hopping up this engine, now I've got to wait. Well, at least I will get my Intake ordered.

EMAX95,

1) You indicate that you have a frankencar and stillen intake?? Am I reading that wrong, or what are you doing??

2)You say have put on the RT .. did you put that on at the same time as the intake mod..if not did you notice a difference in power? WarpSpeed was thinking I wouldnt..wasn't sure though. He was thinking that for the 2Y2 just changing the Y-pipe and the intermediate pipe after the cat (he says its a smaller squashed down pipe now) are the mods needed. You actually have first hand experience so what you have to say will have bearing on what I plan to do.

3) I really like your wheels. Im between those (polished) and the SSR Competiton in gold. If i went the competition I would black out the chrome trim around the windows. I think both would look good on my black SE.

5th Gen y-pipe

As far as I know no one has stepped up to the plate and offered their car to be the one used to prototype the 5th Gen y-pipe. If you live near our shop in Rogers, AR, please e-mail me personally as I will talk to Dallas. At one time, a month or so ago, I thought we had this lined up.We try to add as many products as quickly as we can. When we first started this business, I though getting a new product up and running was simple. Just not so. Takes time, fittings, adjustments, rechecking. Yes, we will have a 2002 y-pipe. Dallas and I will be talking about this tonight. Some one please step up so we actually have a car to do it on.

I changed out my cat this weekend and didn't notice much of a difference. You're only going to get a 2-5 HP gain with a high-flow cat anyway.

If that is true then that is news to me? According to Dallas they are not much different then the 4th gen Y pipes. Infact I ordered a TIG stainless three weeks ago. I have not recieved it yet, but I don't expect it to be much longer. I guess they had a low stock of flex pieces.

I have the franken Ram piece and a stillen Intake. I dynoed my car before and after I added my RT cat and Greddy cat-back exhaust. My car gained 11 FWHP and 9.7 FWTQ, I think the gains were very good. The 2002 reacts extremly well to any mod I have seen.

well when you get it, then write back. I called them last week and they said they aren't ready yet. Their site also says they aren't ready yet.

They actually do have it on the site. Follow this link http://www.warpspeedperformance.com/nissan.htm and about half way down you will see a matrix for products and pricing.

I have talked to Dallas on several occasions, and I don't think he is feeding me a line of bull, I guess they are just real busy
