New Cattman gen5 catback -- need L.A. testfit

The new Cattman all-stainless catback exhaust for the gen5 Maxima is (almost) ready. The prototype unit fit perfectly and the last step before full production is to check the fit of the first production unit to confirm the accuracy of the cnc-programmed mandrel bender (before it makes more).

So, I need someone in Southern California who is ready to put this on their 2000-2002 Maxima this week, ASAP. Installation will be professionally done for free (by the fabricator) and price is discounted $100. Nothing second rate about the product, this is a production pipe and the work is beautiful. No risk, in the unlikely event it didn't fit, the customer would have the option of walking away from the deal and getting a full refund. Based on the superb fit of the first prototype, I'm not concerned about this.

To explain what's going on, we've desgined the ultimate catback exhaust for the Maxima, and the only one designed to sound great with an aftermarket y-pipe. Quality of workmanship and materials is superior to anything else available, with features that include polished twin tips and muffler, all-stainless construction, interchangeability with stock and other mid-pipes and mufflers, and a sweet, no-drone sound with stock or aftermarket Y-pipes.

If you're in or near SoCal and can help with this, contact me directly at cattmanperformance@earthlink.net. We can (and would like to) make this happen immediately.

What will the price be when released?
Will the SS b-pipe be release by itself at the same time? Price?

Thanks!

Thanks!
I can begin selling these within 7-10 days of confirming the fit. Both pieces will be ready at the same time. Retail price is $600 for the complete gen5 system (gen4 will be $50-75 less due to one tip and less bends/length).

Yes, that is a lot of money, and no, there is nothing else like it on the market.

Muffler/rear section is $350 and midpipe w/ large resonator is $250. They are interchangeable with anything that is made to be interchangeable with the stock parts. Installation kit is $10.

Advance orders are being accepted at 800.795.1513. No CC charge until shipped.

Sounds good.I am interested in an exhaust for my 2002 but DO NOT want to be loud when out with the wife and kids and need to be able to hear someone talking to me in the car at highway speeds.I like the idea of the twin outlets to keep it stock looking. Will this bolt on to my stock setup. Thanks for any help and I am very excited about this new exhaust.

Keep your stock muffler and get just the b-pipe. That would be your best bet for sure. It only gets louder from there...

if you dont do it for $100 off then someone else will. so dont bother haggling. and remember, you're getting it installed for free.

I'd agree if we were at the point in the process you assume, but the guinea pig stage was some time ago (and someone did get a ganga deal on the prototype pipe, which turned out to be perfect).

The design is tested and proven already, its on the street. We just need to confirm the fit of the mandrel bent sections before making the rest of the order. Its a CNC (computer/numerically-controlled) bender, so as long as the first one is right, they'll all be and that's the only point of this test fit.

I think that in most parts of the country putting a full exhaust on will cost more than a C-note, so with the free installation that's >$200 savings. Doesn't seem like too bad a deal.

In all seriousness, the prototype pipe seemed so quiet that I may need to make a louder version of the muffler/rear section to satisfy the entire market.

The production piece is virtually identical but I'll have to hear it on a variety of cars w/ and w/o Y-pipes, and the midpipe with different mufflers, to decide if there will be "sport" and "touring" versions of the muffler/rear section. If so, the quieter version exists already.

This shouldn't bother anyone's neighbors, can't wait to get the gen4 version on my too-loud car.

Re: PIX?

My attempts to post pics on the forum in the past have always been frustrating. Contact me directly at cattmanperformance@earthlink.net and I will send back an attachment of a pic I took of the muffler/rear section.

As soon as the prototype midpipe was in my hands it went on a car so I never had the chance to take a pic of it.

Re: Cattman Catback PICTURES

I'd note that the tips are a little different on the production version, but otherwise the picture isn't bad. I have a better one if anyone wants to contact me directly.
