new cutch....starting problems

I just got my car back from my mechanic who installed a new clutch kit and 2 days later my car has trouble starting. When i turn the key the starter sounds normal...it keeps trying to start but no dice. Should i throw my max back in his service bay and tell him to do it right this time? His fault? HELP! By the way, my starter is 3 months old.

Welcome to the club! My old 95 max had the same problem, eric W. max has the same problem and chebesto has the same problem. I don't know what are mechanics(exclude Eric) did wrong. Take it back and if you find out what the problem is PLEASE tell me!

My "ex" mechanic totaly ignored me when I said my car is screwed up, SOB!

I may be wrong, but I thought the crankshaft position sensor is removed when the clutch is replaced. If that wan't installed correctly it may have worked it's way loose, or may have been damaged, resulting in the no start problem. It sounds like the mechanic screwed something up and he should be responsible for fixing it

Your feedback to my problem makes a lot of sense. That is the only logical part of a clutch replacement job that i can think of. Otherwise i may just have a worn down battery. Once again thank you!

did that fix the problem???? I'm having the IDENTICAL problem right now so I'm curious if that worked

my max still has the problem =(
i did an ECU test and got an 0101 cod for camshaft position sensor
HMMMM...dealer wants $118 GOOD LAWD thats a lot of money for some plastic!!

It's not a piece of plastic. It's a magnetic sensor encased in plastic. You could try a boneyard if you are feeling lucky

My car also had this parculiar starting problem. However, it disappeared over time, without me doing anything about it really. I dunno, its odd. Its gotta be connected to that crankshaft sensor, as its the only sensor that is removed when dropping the transmission.
