What to do w/ OEM Rims?

I just bought some aftermarket rims for my 2k1 GXE.

My 16" OEM rims are in MINT condition, and I'd like to sell them and get about $150 for the set. Do I have a chance?

What did everyone else do w/ thier OEMs, when they got aftermarkets?

3/21 UPDATE:
I sold the rims for $160.

I am in the same situation. Had mine put on Friday. I might just keep the old ones...because you never know when your car might get totalled or something and then you could swap the old ones back on.

I called Dave B. to check how much the rims on the 2k2 GXE run (they are the same rims on the 2k-2k1 base SE).....only about $300 a rim!! Nissan is extremely proud of their aluminum wheels.

Do you live where there's winter? Keep them, throw some inexpensive snows on them, and use them in winter.

I had a friend was in your situation and did that. Later, he sold his Max as I was buying mine. I got his extra rims/tires for $250 and a 6-pack (total... for 4 rims and tires) ... sweet deal, but it also means I won't be able to "convince" the wife I need "different" rims because I'll already have 2 OEM sets. So it kinda sucks in a way, too.

Yes, I'd like to know what ppl have done with their old wheel/tires. Mine are just sitting in the basement collecting dust.

There's a big market on eBay for good condition OEM Maxima rims. Search 'maxima wheels' and you'll see what I mean.

I would keep them for the winter situation. A lot of people want the maxima rims and they are hard to buy from private people, and you'll never know when u need them

If you really want to part with the wheel set. Find someone with a 4th Gen who is just starting to mod but have little $$$; this will be a good start for them.

if you have nothing to do, weld them on the front of a Van..call Mr. T and Murdock.. then bust through fences and stores while helping the people in need...

But what would be the advantage for the fourth gens? don't they also have 16 inch rims?

I suggest keep your OEM rims so that you can put them back on and get more trade-in value from the dealer if one day you wish to trade-in your car. Dealers prefer to buy cars in stock form.
