My fstb is smashed against the top of my hood when I close it. I mean it still closes, but it's a pretty tight fit with the top of the bar making indentations on the padding underneath the hood. Is it suppose to be like this?

 

Yep. Check your windshield washer lines to see if they're being squeezed off underneath the padding. Might need to shift them or something if the FSTB is mashing them. Check stickies or do a search, this has been discussed a lot.

 

Yeah I think it is fine.
It did the same thing on my 2000 Maxima and now it fits the same way on my 2002 Maxima.

I have a 2k1 with stillen fstb (see pic) and it dosent even touch the hood.
