Transmission Problem??

My Max has a problem picking up between 1-2 and 2-3 gears. While going approx 5-30 mph, I try to accelerate. The car does not respond to the input until 2-3 seconds later. What can cause this lag? Is it the tranny? Or just simply the fuel injectors being dirty? The exact miles on the car are 81777, and it's an auto GXE.

Are you flooring and then it takes a few seconds to downshiftand then gives you a great jolt? If that's the case then it's just the normal automatic tranny delay. If that's not the case then your tranny might be slipping. Do a search to find out more about slipping.

Have you changed your tranny fluid? It should have been done twice now at your mileage. Switch over to a synthetic or synthetic blend. That helps a little with the shifts.

shuddering...............

What symptoms do U get if U need to change your fluid???
My tranny only every now and then does this kind of shudder when shifting from 3rd gear into 4th overdrive just before lockup torque convertor kicks in..... Maybe its needs its fluid changed...

The Automatic transmission in these Maxima's are good?? Or Bad?? Better then 3rd Gen right? Our trannys are called : RE4FO4A Right?

Any information on the tranny would be great!

The fluid has been changed four times, 15k, 30k, 45k, and 60k. I guess it's about time for the 85k change.

I know flooring it takes a while to respond. But, this is just to accelerate the car, it just is sluggish. Probably the input differential on the throttle is about 20%, going from 40->60 %.
