Maxima VS CL-S Debate on Acura-CL.COM

Actually, most people in that thread are saying that the Auto Max vs. the Auto CL-S is faster and I agree. I have driven the auto max, 6spd Max, Auto CL-S, and now own the 6spd CL-S. I think the best comparison will be 6spd vs. 6spd. From my experience I think that the max may be about a car length faster right out of the hole but I think the CL-S will chase it down. It feels like it has better mid-range acceleration. I am curious myself and can't wait to find out. Honestly, it will come down to the better driver and who can hook up the best from the start. I will have to say this that if I race a Max without HLSD then they probably will not be that half a carlength in front. I love the HLSD and it actually does help the torque steer problem a lot but you still do feel it some around 6000 rpms or so when the VTEC is screaming.

Seems like those guys in the Acura forum are intelligent enough to love their car, but also respect a well built car when they see one. Props to them for having intelligent discussions. Now we know why the Russmeister refuses to post in their forums.

Whoa, some of them are admitting they would loose, while others still can't face the fact that they can get beat by a less expensive car. Maybe it's because it says Type S on the back and ours doesn't..

Can't wait to see some CL-S 6-speeds post some 1/4-times. However, I think a fair test will be the TL-S 6-speed vs. a Maxima 6-speed.
Both are nice cars.

I wouldn't mind having a WRX to play with. However, I think I'll wait for the Lancer EVO VII next year.
P.S: Have you taken that RSX-S to the track yet? Any dyno numbers? Just curious, since I been trying to get a guy at work with one to race.

styling do counts when it comes to buying a car

and no, i have not gotten the chance to go to the track yet. planning to go with my friend's prelude (I/H/E/10 shot nos) and '02max(tapwr3000) very soon.
i did race tapwr3000 once couple months back.
i lost to him by less than a car length.. however back then i was no expert in driving stick..
now i think i should be able to stay at least dead even with him.. or better yet, kill him and get my revenge!!

ps. no i do not have a time slip or dyno sheet.
just go to www.clubrsx.com and they have the stock dyno there.

if you are referring to my rsx, i have an injen SRI installed. People dyno-ed their cars with the thing and have 15 whp gain.. fairly impressive for such affordable bolt-on upgrade..

Pretty car.....kinda small though.
What does that big wing in the back do???....or is it just for looks?
I like your color choice.

it's full 7 inch shorter than C coupe which is already 7 inch shorter than the C sedan (which is already not too big)!!!!!!!! but there are plenty of room inside of the car tho, very roomie inside.

the big wing on the back is the jdm wing. it comes standard on all '02 integra(RSX) base or type-R.. about 1/2 of the rsx owners have them, so get used to seeing them..
cuz the usdm wing is just too plain ugly.

and type-R is just for people who want the most performance outta this car. but it's not really for everyone.. it cost more. it has better performance/better break/suspension/race carlike interior/ and alot more goodies.... however in-exchange, you loose confort, climate control, sun roof, side air bag, premium stereo, $$$... etc
i think the R is worth the price tho..
kinda need it to make wrx owners shut up!!!

PS: thx for the complements, people
