Replace Nissan Blower Motor With Siemens?

Hello;

I'm having the somewhat common problem of noise coming out of my heat/ac fan at low speeds. I have brought it into the dealership for the TSB fix, but that didn't do anything to alleviate the noise.

I'm looking into replacing the blower motor completely and instead of
replacing it with another Nissan blower motor someone has suggested that I try an OEM blower motor from SIEMENS Part No. PM2709 (Find one at http://http://www.autozone.com/), it sells for 67.99.

I was wondering if anyone has done this before, if so, is it an exact fit (Position of the screws, electrical connector, etc.), does it work well, do you need any special tools to install it or is it a straight up switch with the Nissan one?

Any help appreciated.

Is the TSB fix free? Just curious.

No, the TSB isn't free.

The "fix" is nothing more then a small piece of foam/plastic that goes over the motor to muffle the sound. Doesn't work.

The component itself is about 6$, depending on if you do it yourself or have them do it, it will either cost 6$ or ~50$.
